1. Production process: The production process of rock wool board is made using the internationally advanced pendulum method of three-dimensional interweaving, while glass wool cannot use this construction process and can only be produced using the flat weaving method. Its strength illegally meets the requirements for climbing on the wall.
2. Acidity coefficient: The acidity coefficient of rock wool board is ≥ 1.6, and the acidity coefficient of glass wool is ≤ 1.6. The higher the acidity coefficient, the greater the strength, high temperature resistance, and durability of the board.
3. Strength requirements: As an A-grade material (cotton product) that can be used for wall mounting, it must meet two strength requirements: 1) the compressive strength must be ≥ 40Kpa, and 2) the tensile strength perpendicular to the board surface must be ≥ 7.5Kpa. These two indicators of glass wool are 0.

4. Dimensional stability: The dimensional stability of rock wool board is relatively stable at ≤ 1%, while the dimensional stability of glass wool is ≥ 8%. Dimensional stability has a crucial impact on the insulation system. Poor dimensional stability can easily cause expansion or contraction of the insulation board, leading to damage to the decorative layer and affecting the insulation system.
5. Construction: The rock wool board adopts a bonding method of adhesive nails, which greatly ensures the safety of the rock wool board. However, glass wool cannot be plastered due to its characteristics, so it can only be fixed by anchoring. Glass wool does not have compressive strength, so the board itself is relatively soft, making it difficult to construct during anchoring construction. Its safety is also relatively reduced. The construction of rock wool board is easy, and the flatness can be effectively controlled. Glass wool cannot guarantee its flatness.
6. Working temperature: The working temperature of rock wool board is ≥ 650 ℃; The working temperature of glass wool is ≥ 250 ℃, although both are A1 grade fireproof materials, the difference in working temperature between the two is still quite significant.
7. Fire resistance time: The fire resistance time of rock wool board is 4 hours; The fire resistance time of glass wool is 0.5 hours.
8. Thermal conductivity: The thermal conductivity of rock wool board is ≤ 0.040 (W/m · k) (government regulations), and currently the actual thermal conductivity can reach 0.036 (W/m · k) to 0.037 (W/m · k). The thermal conductivity is basically similar to 0.035 (W/m · k) of glass wool.
9. Dry density: relative to rock wool board 140-160kg/m? The dry density of glass wool is 10-16kg/m? It's much lighter, which is a major advantage of glass wool.
10. Water absorption: The water absorption rate of hydrophobic rock wool board is ≥ 99%, and the water absorption rate is ≤ 1kg/m? (Water absorption rate after 24 hours of immersion), while the water absorption rate of glass wool is ≥ 3kg/m?. At the same time, the dimensional stability of glass wool is worse than that of rock wool board. Once water is absorbed, it is easy to expand, thereby damaging the insulation system.
